The Three and China
5 - 6 November 2010
Berlin
The 18th Plenary Meeting of the Club of Three was held in Berlin under the auspices of Dr Wolfgang Schäuble, German Federal Minister of Finance, on 5th and 6th November.
This year’s meeting focused on the ‘The Three and China” and included a delegation of distinguished Chinese business and political figures, joining British, French and German leaders from industry, finance, politics and the media. The conference explored the shape of the global economic and geo-strategic order in the wake of the financial crisis, the evolving relative positions of Europe and China in the world and the socio-economic models that best deliver social cohesion and equality.
The conference was organised by the Institute with the kind financial support of Clariant International Ltd and additional support from the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The conference dinner was hosted by Allianz SE. The event concluded with a working lunch hosted by Simon McDonald, the new UK Ambassador to Germany, at the Ambassador's residence in Berlin.
