Defining a New Economic and Strategic Engagement

The Minister President of Baden-Württemberg, Günther Oettinger, Dr. Klaus Mangold and Lord Weidenfeld invited senior figures from the European industrial, banking and policy communities to meet in Stuttgart with their counterparts from Russia. The meeting addressed security frameworks, energy relations, trade and investment focusing on the potentials for increased cooperation between Russia and Europe. Speakers included Andrei Kortunov, New Eurasia Foundation President; Georg Boomgaarden, former Secretary of State, German Federal Foreign Office and currently German Ambassador to the UK; Mathias Warnig, Managing Director of Nord Stream AG and Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management, Daimler AG.
