CEDAR Mentoring Session
Al Badr Mosque
29 January 2011
London
The first 2011 CEDAR mentoring session was held with the Al Risalah Youth Club at the Al Badr Mosque in East London. The mentoring program aims to empower and inspire young Muslim women to enhance their future life-prospects by providing professional and personal development opportunities. This session was aimed at young women between 12-18 years old. They were introduced to inspirational Muslim role-models with whom they share similar cultural or faith backgrounds. Through sharing and exchanging their own professional and life experiences, the mentors encouraged the young women to raise their aspirations.
Nabila Ramdani, a well-known French journalist and one of the winners of the European Muslim Women of Influence Awards 2010, participated in this session alongside other CEDAR members. This event was held in cooperation with the Kiran Project.
