CEDAR Reception
Celebrating Europe’s influential Muslim role models
12 November 2011
Mica Gallery
ISD hosted a CEDAR Drinks Reception on Saturday 12 November 2011, with a focus on celebrating Europe’s influential Muslim role models. The event was held at the Mica Gallery, Europe’s first gallery specialising in Modern Islamic and Contemporary Art. Featuring brief comments by the US State Department's Special Representative to Muslim Communities, Farah Pandith, prominent French journalist Nabila Ramdani and CEDAR Chair Ahmed Larouz, the reception highlighted the vision and achievements of CEDAR and the role that this unique group of professionals plays in improving Europe’s capacity to engage globally.
CEDAR, Connecting European Dynamic Achievers and Role Models, is a unique pan-European network focused on the promotion of diversity, leadership, achievement, empowerment and contributions of European Muslims. This major initiative brings together a growing generation of young successful Muslim and minority community professionals in Europe, facilitating member engagement as role models and mentors with youth in marginalised communities, thus expanding pathways to career opportunities and development for the next generation. Above all, CEDAR fosters a growing culture of achievement and leadership amongst Europe’s diverse communities.
