The Club of Three 15th Plenary Meeting

Hosted by Minister President Roland Koch at the Biebrich Palace in Wiesbaden, Germany, the 2007 Club of Three Plenary brought together some 60 European decision makers, top business executives and the leaders of Europe's banking sector for a lively and intimate exchange on Europe's global business credentials. The conference opened with an illuminating debate on the role of private equity and the relevance of national champions. Peer Steinbrück, Federal Minister of Finance, led the discussions in a special session on Germany's joint EU and G8 Presidencies. Further topics for discussion included the EU's approach to energy security and the role of Brussels in optimising Europe's business operating environment and competiveness in the global markets.
