The Club of Three and China: The China-Europe Beijing Forum
In association with the Boyuan Foundation
25 - 26 May 2012
Beijing
The China-Europe Beijing Forum represented a continuation of the Club of Three and China initiative that began during the 18th Plenary Meeting of the Club of Three, which took place in Berlin in October 2010. This return visit to China, organised in conjunction with the Boyuan Foundation, a leading Chinese non-profit promoting academic research and policy analysis, sought to build on the strong relationships that were established in Berlin and create a lasting platform for dialogue and mutually beneficial exchange between Europe and China.
The forum brought together oustanding figures from politics, academia and business including Pascal Lamy, Director of the World Trade Organisation, and Zhou Xiaochuan, Governor of the People’s Bank of China. Participants gathered to discuss topics focusing on China-Europe economic relations; the rebalancing of the Chinese economy; and geopolitical challenges ahead.
The Forum was generously supported by Robert Bosch Stiftung, Caijing Magazine, The School of International Studies at Peking University, SEEC Media Group, Bank of China, and Man Group.
