Weidenfeld Scholars' ISD Briefing
Scholars visit ISD's London offices
22 November 2011
London
22 November saw the Weidenfeld Scholars swap Oxford for London for an all-day briefing at ISD's offices in Charles Street.
The morning consisted of a session in which ISD programme managers and advisors spoke to the Scholars on ISD programmes and projects, followed by a Q&A and a discussion. This session provided an excellent opportunity for Scholars to learn about ISD's work and identify areas of mutual interest. In the afternoon there was a café-style discussion event where Scholars congregated in small groups to talk about pertinent contemporary issues from the perspective of their diverse backgrounds and experiences.
The Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme provides outstanding university graduates and young professionals from transition and emerging economies with the opportunity to pursue graduate studies at the University of Oxford. This is combined with a comprehensive programme of leadership development, long-term mentoring and networking.
