Weidenfeld Scholarships Selection Weekend

2011- 2012 Cohort

7 - 8 May 2011
Egrove Park, Oxford

The annual Selection Weekend for the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme once again drew an excellent group of candidates to Oxford.  Those hoping to become part of the 2011/12 cohort spent two days at Egrove Park undergoing a rigorous interview process, while also getting the opportunity to meet each other and learn more about the Scholarships and Leadership Programme.

The 21-strong Selection Committee comprised Advisory Board members, ISD Trustees and senior staff, and Oxford academics, and was able to meet prospective Scholars informally over dinner on Saturday 7 May after the interviews had finished. Current Scholars were also invited to the reception and dinner held that evening.

Out of over 1000 initial applications, 44 individuals were invited to come to Oxford to compete for 25 places. The newly chosen Weidenfeld Scholars will join 14 continuing Scholars in October.
