Communication Skills Training

The communication skills training has been designed to offer the Scholars a range of useable and relevant skills and tools for presenting in a diverse range of settings; gaining confidence in public speaking and acquiring effective communication methods. The training aims to build on the Weidenfeld Scholars existing oratory and written skills to succeed in their future career and leadership roles.

Training components include:

  • A Communication and Presentation Skills course focused on public-speaking and tools for giving effective presentations led by Grant Pearson Brown Consulting Ltd;

  • A Workshop on Oxford Union-style debating, introducing the rules and techniques of debating with an emphasis on structure, public speaking, and developing successful arguments;

  • An Improvisation Workshop concentrating on spontaneous speaking skills, innovative thinking, mind flexibility and team building led by Imprology;

  • A course on effective revision techniques and examination-writing skills organized and led by Dr Adamson, the Weidenfeld Scholarships Academic Director.
