The Weidenfeld Scholars
To date 113 Scholars have taken part in the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme. They are an increasingly diverse group, originating from 37 countries, with new Scholars from Kosovo and Yemen joining the 2012-13 cohort. The group studies a wide variety of subjects in 25 different departments.

Ruth studied towards a DPhil in International Relations at Oxford as a Weidenfeld Scholar until 2011. She holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Bar-Ilan University, Israel (1997), an MA in International Relations from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem (2003) and an MA in Public Administration, received in 2007 from Harvard University. She has worked as a Political and Economic Advisor and Chargé d’Affaires for the Israeli Embassy in Cairo between 2003 and 2006 and was an Advisor to President Shimon Peres between 2007 and 2009. After her experience working in Egypt, Ruth is particularly interested in the topic of ‘Egyptian-Israeli peace and its interdependence upon Israeli-Palestinian peace’. With the further academic expertise gained at Oxford and the skills and connections obtained through the Leadership Programme, she intends to continue working for the Israeli government in an effort to improve its relations with other states in the Middle East.
