The Weidenfeld Scholars
To date 113 Scholars have taken part in the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme. They are an increasingly diverse group, originating from 37 countries, with new Scholars from Kosovo and Yemen joining the 2012-13 cohort. The group studies a wide variety of subjects in 25 different departments.

Yulia has a BA in International Relations and Journalism from the American University in Bulgaria, which she completed in 2011, having been awarded an Open Society Institute merit-based scholarship. Her core research interest lies in the field of education and behavioural change. She has previously worked as an education project manager, university tutor and summer camp counsellor. She has also volunteered at the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee, a human rights organisation, and this experience has strengthened her belief that sound research and skilful communication can bring about changes in policy that increase public good. With her degree from Oxford, Yulia hopes to gain a strong intellectual foundation for pursuing a career in public policy research in her home country of Belarus.
