The Weidenfeld Scholars
To date 113 Scholars have taken part in the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme. They are an increasingly diverse group, originating from 37 countries, with new Scholars from Kosovo and Yemen joining the 2012-13 cohort. The group studies a wide variety of subjects in 25 different departments.

Kubo previously obtained an MJur (2008) and an MPhil in Law (2010) as a Weidenfeld Scholar. He also holds a Magister in Law from Charles University, Prague (2007). While there, he chaired a debating club and led several international debating and educational initiatives. He also served as managing editor of the Common Law Review based in Prague (2006-07). From 2008-09, he interned with the United Nations, working at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Tanzania and at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, providing legal assistance, research and analysis. In his DPhil research, Kubo is focusing on the applicability of international humanitarian law, specifically the extent to which it applies to internationalised armed conflicts. After his studies, he would like to return to his home region and become an academic in the field of international law.
