The Weidenfeld Scholars
To date 113 Scholars have taken part in the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme. They are an increasingly diverse group, originating from 37 countries, with new Scholars from Kosovo and Yemen joining the 2012-13 cohort. The group studies a wide variety of subjects in 25 different departments.

Nino was part of the inaugural cohort of Weidenfeld Scholars, undertaking an Msc in Sociology from which she graduated in 2008. She previously obtained a Diploma in Psychology from The Educational Institute of clinical General and Applied Psychology before working for the Policy research centre at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, as an organiser for a Woman’s advice NGO and as a stock broker. After graduating from Oxford, she worked as an Advocacy and Campaign Assistant at Crisis Action in London for three months. She then returned to Tbilisi, Georgia where she started to work for the UK-Georgian Professional Network, which is a think-tank focused on aiding sustainable development of the Georgian State based on the values of democracy, human rights, and the free market. Nino intends to continue her professional as well as academic life focused on the field of civil society development. To that end, she is pursuing a PhD focussing on social movements in post-soviet countries.
