The Weidenfeld Scholars
To date 113 Scholars have taken part in the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme. They are an increasingly diverse group, originating from 37 countries, with new Scholars from Kosovo and Yemen joining the 2012-13 cohort. The group studies a wide variety of subjects in 25 different departments.

Khatchig, born in Beirut, and of Armenian descent, has always taken an active role in Armenian cultural and social affairs in Lebanon. He completed his BA in Economics with a minor in Mathematics at the American University of Beirut and has previously worked at the Central Bank of Lebanon and Greenpeace on their work on the Mediterranean Sea. As a Weidenfeld Scholar, Khatchig undertook an MPhil in Economics, graduating in 2009. He then embarked on his desired career path, contributing to public life in his home country by joining the International Labour Organization team in Lebanon.
