The Weidenfeld Scholars
To date 113 Scholars have taken part in the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme. They are an increasingly diverse group, originating from 37 countries, with new Scholars from Kosovo and Yemen joining the 2012-13 cohort. The group studies a wide variety of subjects in 25 different departments.

Before coming to Oxford, Kate worked as a Freelance Writer, Qualitative Research Assistant and Educator in New York City. At the Harlem Children's Zone, Kate co-founded Theatre in the Zone, a performing arts program that staged Shakespeare productions with middle school students. In 2007, her students performed excerpts from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' for Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. Kate performed her solo show, a documentary play based on ethnographic research with homeless women, at theatres and festivals throughout the city, and her new play 'Blue Before Morning' was produced Off-Broadway in 2008. At Oxford, Kate obtained a Master in Science in Social Anthropology (2009) and, in future, hopes to apply her writing and research skills to develop educational programmes within an NGO.
