The Weidenfeld Scholars
To date 113 Scholars have taken part in the Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme. They are an increasingly diverse group, originating from 37 countries, with new Scholars from Kosovo and Yemen joining the 2012-13 cohort. The group studies a wide variety of subjects in 25 different departments.

Masha obtained a BA in International Public Law from the Taras Shevchenko National University, Kyiv in 2008 and also holds an MJur from Oxford, which she obtained in 2010 as a Weidenfeld Scholar. Continuing as a Scholar in the Leadership Programme, she graduated with an MPhil in Law in 2011. Since 2006, she has been co-editor of ‘Jus Gentium’ journal for young professionals, which specialises in international law and international relations. In 2006, Masha undertook an internship as a Legal Adviser in the Ukrainian Ministry of Work and Social Politics and has since gone on to work for various law firms, most recently as Junior Associate with ‘Konnov & Sozanovsky’ (2008-2010) in Kyiv. After deepening her academic expertise in international law (particularly focussing on international dispute settlement proceedings) at Oxford, she wants to pursue a career in politics, either as a civil servant in her home country or working in the Ukrainian office of an international organisation such as the WTO, the UN or the European Council.
