ISD President Lord Weidenfeld honoured by the City of Frankfurt and the European Academy of Science and the Arts
ISD's President, Lord Weidenfeld, was presented with a 'Tolerance Rings' award by the City of Frankfurt and the European Academy of Science and the Arts (EASA) on 12 June 2012 at the St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt.
The EASA has awarded the Tolerance Prize annually since 1997, to honour individuals or institutions that are actively involved in the promotion of tolerance, cross-border dialogue and the fight against racism. The list of previous laureates includes Teddy Kollek, Cardinal Franz König, Astrid N. Heiberg, Dorothea Rosenblad, Djibrail EB Kassab, Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Flavio Cotti, Eugen Biser, Klaus Töpfer and Daniel Barenboim.
This year, by analogy to the Parable of the Three Rings, was the first time that three individuals of the three Abrahamic religions were honoured with Tolerance Rings.
