Islam,  Diversity and Social Cohesion Programme

This Programme works to combat social polarisation and promote cohesive societies in the context of Europe’s rich cultural, ethnic and religious diversity.  It does so through a combination of major research and policy advisory initiatives, as well as the incubation of a Europe-wide network of Muslim professionals and the facilitation of an eight-country European network of integration and security policy chiefs.

This Programme includes the following projects and initiatives:

CEDAR  - European Muslim Professionals Network

CEDAR is a pan European network of Muslim professionals working to generate a culture of success and leadership amongst Europe’s diverse  communities. More

The Policy Planners Network on Countering Polarisation and Radicalisation (PPN)

The PPN is an intergovernmental network of eight EU countries which brings together policy planners from both security and integration ministries, taking a comprehensive approach to the dual challenges of radicalisation and social polarisation. More

Muslims in the European Mediascape

This three year research project, which is looking to include over 1000 interviews with Muslims and non-Muslims in France, the UK and Germany, will also investigate diversity of media production and programming and its relationship to inter-community attitudes. More

Government Advisory Initiative on Islam and Integration

Providing targeted policy and strategic advice to governments, institutions and political leaders. Primarily focused on Europe, this project has  also facilitated exchanges of experience on a transatlantic basis. More
